Prevent Expensive Repairs
Before calling Cherokee Mechanical for emergency repairs, there are many things you can do to prevent an expensive visit or at least help us quickly diagnose your issue. Our team has over 100 years of experience fixing and maintaining all types of residential and commercial heating and air-conditioning systems.
No Cooling From Your Air Conditioner
- Check your thermostat's setting. Make sure the temperature control selector is set below your room's current temperature and the system switch is on COOL
or AUTO. The fan switch should be set to ON for continuous airflow or AUTO if you want the blower to operate only while the A/C is operating
- Attempt to get the air conditioner to turn on by lowering the thermostat to its lowest possible temperature setting
- If the air flow out of your registers seems low, check the air filter. A dirty air filter can block its air flow
- Make sure all your air registers are open and not obstructed
- Check on the power disconnect switch by each unit (both outdoor and indoor)
- Check the fuse/breaker at the electrical panel for both your outdoor and indoor units
- If your problem persists, please call us at 706-629-1704
